Games engines

Hello again! Today I will talk more about game engines. Few sentences about engines.

What is the best engine for you?

Designers:

You need to have a tools - best tools are that when you can create game without programming. The story from text or from view you can have from engines like game maker, rpg maker, stencyl. Unity and unreal engine are more for people which want to learn how to program even on basics level.

Programmers:

Which is the best engine for you? It depends for engine creators it can be allegro, ogre, irrlicht - of course in C++ technology. For people which want to be game play programmers i suggest Unity3d (C#), UE4 (C++, blueprints), Jmonkey (JAVA).

About graphics engines:

Allegro - 2D game library. It is old, but good for start lib, which can be easy to start when you just started thinking about game creation as job or good idea. Easy to start, perfect for basic knowledge in C++. Some time ago "SOS" make lib allegro JS in JavaScript - you can start from that project.

OGRE - 3D graphical library which help you to start making your games and engines. Big community and plenty of tutorials made it good for everyone. I tried to made something inside it, but in 2011 I was to weak to think about that big environment as ogre. I guess it is not good lib to start.

IrrLicht - 3D graphical library like Ogre, but not that good, got less people in community and less possibilities. It is minus and plus - because it have less possibilities it is easier to use. That mean probably better for start if you want to create game engines in future.

About game engines:

When I read about engines to prepare myself to give you a knowledge I find that engine. As I heard it is quite new engine without programming language inside. You can program all using a behavior blocks. It can be quite good for start.

Game maker as I heard it is fre tool which you can make a game without any programing knowledge. Most of elements base on specific workflow similar to RPG maker - but RPG maker is not free. Good for artists, designers and entry level programmers.

Unity 3D best engine in my opinion for entry level and for professional/commercial use. Have good and big community, shop is included into engine, that is why you can easily buy or download something for free. Download and enjoy it, because it is great choose.

Unreal is second the biggest engine for games. Mainly for fps - because of history - Unreal engine was created to Unreal games which was fps, and it is good for that in other games it can be not that obvious, but you can make everything you want. For me it is hard engine to start and for newbie. Because of blue print it is good even for designers, but blueprints are have so care.

Jmonkey - i guess you don't know about existing of that engine, because people in java want to make money not games. :D Still it is I guess the best java engine. Maybe not the biggest, maybe not the best, but in java. So if you want have more money and learn java you can learn Jmonkey and after that always go into business applications and earn more than your friends. Now java developers are the most payed programmers.

That is all what I prepare for you. Have nice day, subscribe me and left me feedback! It is important for me, especially feedback. :D
